Most of these were taken between f/8 and f/14. I used bulb setting on all but a few, the others I used 20-30 sec timers. On a few of them I zoomed in/out in between fireworks on the same picture. I think that’s what give the crazy lines on some of them.

I thought this was the hardest of any of the activities we’ve done so far.  Perhaps its because its hard to come up with ideas at places you’ve been to before.  I took almost 3 times as many photos as in previous outings to try and compensate for the lack of brainstorms.  Needless to say I tossed out a lot of photos this time.  The second photo (the one of the science museum) isn’t wonderful but I thought it was a cool effect.

Here’s my effort from the oceanside pier outing. Taking all black and white was a challenge (I slipped one color one in there). I think the biggest impact was the combination of the circular polarizer and the red filter. Those two together really make the sky into a light to dark gradient. I won’t take credit for the pelican in the window frame. That was all Jessica K.’s idea. Here are all the ones I kept:

So I am finally posting pictures.  I think having the topics will make me more likely to post.  There were some other pictures I took that were potentially “wicked awesome,” (just kidding, it’s me we are talking about) alas, I got trigger happy and accidentally shot with an 800 ISOS setting and I don’t do grainy very well so…Note to self: check settings more often.

There were plenty of flowers sitting around considering Valentine’s Day.
